The Hon. Kenneth J. Gnoss is a judge for the Superior Court of Sonoma County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Laurence K. Sawyer.
Gnoss earned a B.A. from Pepperdine University in 1980. During this time, he also served on the Inglewood Police Force. Then, in 1983, he completed a J.D. from Western State University School of Law.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Gnoss served in the Office of the District Attorney of Sonoma County. He entered as a deputy district attorney in 1984, quickly rising to chief deputy district attorney in 1986.
Gnoss was raised in Novato, California. His father was a court clerk for Marin County.
He is registered as a Republican.
