The Hon. Kenneth C. Twisselman II is a judge for the Superior Court of Kern County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor George Deukmejian in 1988, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. William A. Stone to the Fifth District Court of Appeals.
Twisselman earned an A.A. from Taft Junior College in 1972. He then transferred to the University of California, Davis, where he completed a B.S. in psychology in 1974. Then, in 1977, he received a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
During his final year in law school, Twisselman clerked for Associate Justice William P. Clark, Jr. of the California State Supreme Court. Then, after graduating, he relocated to Bakersfield, where he accepted a position as an associate with DiGiorgio, Davis and Klein. During his brief tenure there, he handled civil and criminal cases.
Twisselman left the firm in 1978 after relocating to Shafter with his family. He spent the next two years as an associate at Williams C. Kuhs and Associates before opening his own private practice in 1980.
He has served as the Director of the Shafter Rotary Club. His has also been involved with the Kern County Cattlemen’s Association and the Shafter High School Mock Trial Team.
Twisselman was born in Taft, California. He was raised on his family’s farm, which was located twenty miles west of Buttonwillow.
