Biography

The Hon. Keith A. Sherlin is a magistrate for the Spartanburg County Magistrate Court in South Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Nikki Haley in 2011.


The civil cases heard in magistrate court include eviction/notice to quit, summons and complaint lawsuits of $7500 or less, restraining orders, and claim and delivery actions. Magistrates also hear criminal and traffic cases, issue warrants and set bonds, and hold preliminary hearings and transfer cases for Spartanburg County.


Sherlin presides in Spartanburg County Bond Court.


He also served for ten years as Director of Public Safety at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind and was a South Carolina Constable. Sherlin joined the school in 2002.
