The Hon. Katherine D. Alexander is a judge for the North Tonawanda City Court in the Eighth Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to the bench by Mayor Arthur G. Pappas in 2017. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jeremy M. Schnurr (Ret.).
She is a registered Republican.
Judge Alexander received her B.A. from Lawrence University in 2008. She went on to earn her J.D. from Albany Law School in 2011.
After graduating from law school, Alexander began her legal career as a sole practitioner at her own law firm. While in private practice, she also served as an assistant county attorney for Niagara County beginning in 2012. In 2014, she then began serving as an assistant city attorney in the City of North Tonawanda, a position she held concurrently with her other posts. Then, in 2016, Alexander became the city attorney for the City of North Tonawanda. She held that position until her appointment to the City Court the following year.
Her memberships have included the Gatwick Hose Volunteer Fire Company, a board member of the Literacy New York Buffalo-Niagara, and vice-president of the Tonawanda Bar Association.
Judge Alexander is a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda.
