The Hon. Kate P. Segerstrom is a judge for the Superior Court of Tuolumne County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown on December 5, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Eric L. DuTemple.
Segerstrom earned a B.S. from Stanford University. She then completed a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
She began her legal career as a law clerk at Steinheimer, Riggio, Haydel, Mordaunt and Kelly in 1984. The following year, she joined the firm as an associate, eventually rising through the ranks to become a shareholder. Then, in 2000, she left Steinheimer, Riggio, Haydel, Mordaunt and Kelly in order to start her own private practice as a sole practitioner. She worked in that capacity until her appointment to the bench.
Segerstrom is registered as a Democrat.
