The Hon. Karen A. Foxman is a Circuit Judge for the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Volusia County. She was elected to the bench in 2014 and reelected without opposition in 2020. Judge Foxman is currently assigned to the Family Division.
Foxman earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her J.D. at Campbell University, Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, in 1996.
After graduating from law school, Foxman served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit. In 2004, she went into private practice and was a partner at Rice & Rose, where she specialized in family law and criminal defense matters for seven years. In 2011, Foxman returned to the Office of the State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit, and served as Director of Operations, until her election to the bench in 2014.
She has served as president of the Volusia County Bar Association and the Volusia-Flagler Association of Women Lawyers.
Her husband, the Hon. Matt Foxman, is a Circuit Judge, and her brother-in-law, the Hon. David Foxman, is a County Judge for Florida’s Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.
