Hon. Joshua F. Grant (Ret.) was a judge for the Lincoln County District Court in Washington. He joined the bench in 2000. Grant retired in 2015.
In addition to sitting on the District Court, he maintained a private solo practice in Wilbur and presided as a pro tem judge for the Lincoln County Superior Court. His areas of practice included family law, domestic violence, negligence, small claims, and DUI’s. Grant entered into private practice in 1979.
During that same time, he worked as a deputy prosecuting attorney in both Garfield (1979 to 1989) and Lincoln Counties (1989 to 1999).
Grant received a B.A. in sociology from Washington State University in 1971. He then completed a J.D. at Willamette University College of Law in 1975.
His memberships included the Washington State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section; Real Property, Probate and Trust Section; and Environmental and Land Use Law Section.
After retiring from the bench, Grant joined the Advocates Law Group, PLLC, where he handles land use, landlord/tenant law, real estate, estate planning, probate and probate avoidance, trusts, and homeowner’s association issues. Additionally, he assists clients in matters involving elder law as a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
Grant is married and has three grown children. Away from the bench, he enjoys spending time on Lake Roosevelt sculling or competitive rowing on crew as well as reading, cooking, CrossFit, pickleball, participating in church activities, and spending time with his family. Grant also plays trombone with a German band.
