Hon. Joseph F. Sklarosky, Jr. is a judge for the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2011.
During his judicial tenure, Sklarosky presided as a judge in the Luzerne County Treatment Court.
He received a bachelor’s degree from King’s College in 1991. Sklarosky went on to complete a J.D. at Widener University, Delaware Law School in 1994.
Prior to joining the bench, he worked as an assistant public defender in Luzerne County and a sole practitioner at his own private practice in Forty Fort.
Sklarosky sat on the Board of Directors of the Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity and Ruth’s Place women’s shelter. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Wilkes-Barre and the Knights of Columbus Council #6440. In addition, Sklarosky was a coach for the Mountain Top Youth Soccer Association.
He was raised in West Wyoming and Plains Township and graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre. Sklarosky and his wife, Megan Kennedy, have three children. At the time of his election, the family resided in Mountain Top.
He is registered as a Democrat.
