The Hon. John T. Feeney (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of Humboldt County in California. He was initially appointed to the Municipal Court of Humboldt County by former Governor Pete Wilson on December 24, 1997. He was subsequently elevated to the Superior Court of Humboldt County after the two courts were consolidated in 1998.
Feeney earned a B.A. in biology from the University of California, San Diego. He then completed an M.S. in Criminalistics from California State University, Los Angeles as well as a J.D. from Loyola Law School.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Feeney practiced law for more than seventeen years in Humboldt County.
Over the course of his judicial career, he participated in the creation of two mental health court programs. He also helped establish the Humboldt Homeless and Caring Court.
Feeney has served as a trustee of the Humboldt County Law Library.
