John Nho Trong Nguyen is a retired judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He retired in September 2013.
Nguyen is the first Vietnamese-American to sit on the bench. Even before Nguyen came to America, he was already a renowned statesman and jurist in Vietnam. He was a member of the House of Representatives of Vietnam and also served as an Associate Justice on the Constitutional Special Supreme Court of South Vietnam. Nguyen also served in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam.
His family sponsored hundreds of Southeast Asian refugees to settle in America.
