The Hon. John H. Grady is a judge for the Galveston County Court at Law No. 1 in Texas. He was elected to the bench in 2010 and re-elected in 2014 and 2018.
Prior to his election, Grady worked as an attorney in the Law Offices of Vargas-Grady & Grady. He has also served as Chief of the Misdemeanor Division of the Brazoria County District Attorneys Office as well as a probation officer for the Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department.
Grady earned a J.D. from Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1977.
His memberships have included the Texas District Attorneys Association, the Texas County Attorneys Association, the National Rifle Association, the Galveston Rifle and Pistol Club, the Galveston Pachyderms, the Galveston Rotary, and the Galveston Republican Network.
He is registered as a Republican.
