The Hon. John G. Evans is a judge for the Riverside County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2008. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Lawrence W. Fry (Ret.).
He is a registered Republican.
Judge Evans received his B.S. from the University of California, Riverside. He went on to earn his J.D. from California Southern Law School in 1979.
Evans' entire legal career, outside of the bench, was spent in private practice. He worked as an associate at Harding and Miller as well as with Furness, Flory, and Middlebrook. He was a partner at MacLachlan, Buford, and Arias and at the Law Offices of Evans and Plott LLP. He also served two stints in solo practice during that time.
While on the bench, Judge Evans has presided over a probate calendar at the Palm Springs Court.
His pastimes include making surfboards and surfing.
