The Hon. John C. Weller is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom on April 28, 2020, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Gerald S. Rosenberg.
Weller earned a B.A. in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. Then, in 2005, he completed a J.D. at Loyola Law School.
After graduating from law school, Weller began his legal career as a law clerk at the Law Offices of Caree Harper in 2005. Later that year, he joined the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, where he served as a deputy district attorney until 2007. At that time, he transferred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. He served in that capacity until his appointment to the bench, holding assignments in its Cyber Crime Division.
He was a resident of Inglewood at the time of his appointment.
Weller is registered as a Democrat.
