The Hon. Jill R. Epstein is a judge for the Civil Court of the City of New York in Richmond County in the Thirteenth Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the Kings County Civil Court bench in 2019 and has presided in Richmond County.
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Epstein received her B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1980. She went on to earn her J.D. from Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1983.
After graduating from law school, Epstein began her legal career practicing briefly as an associate at the Law Office of Marvin Rosenberg in 1984.
The following year, she joined the New York State Unified Court System, during which time, she served as a court attorney and supervising court attorney from 1985 until 1989.
Epstein then became a named partner at Rosenberg and Epstein. After practicing for two years there, she then entered into solo practice at her own law firm.
By 2005, Epstein made her way back to the New York State Unified Court System, this time serving as a senior law clerk for the Kings County Civil Court, until 2012, when she then became a principal law clerk for the Kings County Supreme Court. Epstein held this position until her election to the bench in 2019.
She has served as co-vice president and officer of Murrow Music Sponsors and was on the law committee of the Thomas Jefferson Democratic Club.
