Judge Jessica J. Ticktin - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Jessica J. Ticktin (Ret.) was a judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Palm Beach County. She was elected to the bench in 2014. Ticktin retired on January 1, 2021.

Ticktin held assignments in the Family and Probate Divisions and also served as an administrative judge of the Family Division. In 2019, she was presented with the Jurist of the Year Award.

Prior to her election, Ticktin was a managing partner at her father's law firm, The Ticktin Law Group, since 2009. Her legal experience also includes practicing as a partner at Nugent Ticktin (2008) and as an associate at the Law Office of Matthew Nugent (2006 to 2008). Ticktin was also in practice at the Law Office of Mark Maynor (2005 to 2006) and the Law Office of Patricia Alexander.

Ticktin received a B.S. in criminology from Florida State University in 2001. She then completed a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 2003.

Following her retirement, she began providing mediation services through Ticktin Mediation.
