The Hon. Jerry M. Iannece is a judge for the Criminal Court of the City of New York in Queens County. He was appointed to the position by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2018. Previously, Judge Iannece received appointments to serve as an interim judge for the Queens County Criminal Court, Kings County Criminal Court, and the Queens County Civil Court by Mayor de Blasio in 2017.
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Iannece received his B.A. from New York University in 1981. He went on to earn his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1984. While in law school, Iannece served as president of the St. John’s Law Student Bar Association.
After graduating from law school, he joined the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked as an assistant district attorney for four years.
Iannece left the public sector in 1988 to practice briefly as an associate at the law firm Feldman and Rudy before starting his own law firm the following year. He practiced at Iannece and Calvacca as a partner until his initial appointment to the Criminal Court in 2017. His areas of practice included criminal law, real estate law, and civil litigation.
Judge Iannece has served as a member of the Queens County Bar Association, the Bronx County Bar Association, the Queens County Columbian Lawyers Association, the Queens Community Board #11, the Queens County Borough Board, and the Queens Civil Congress Foundation. He has also served as a president of the Bayside Hills Civic Association and the Saint Michael Society of Senerchia, vice president of the Federation of Italian American Organizations of Queens, and chairman of the Queens County Columbus Parade.
