The Hon. Jenny Higginbotham is a judge for the Nassau County Court in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida. She was elected to the bench in 2020, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Wesley R. Poole.
Higginbotham presides over misdemeanors, criminal traffic, civil traffic, small claims, and county civil cases.
Prior to her election, Higginbotham was a managing attorney for Fidelity National Financial, a position to which she was named in 2004. During her tenure there, she handled insurance contracts, disputes, torts, mortgage fraud, and wire fraud matters, sitting as senior counsel of its Agency Division.
Higginbotham received a B.A. from the University of North Florida. She went on to complete a J.D. at Florida State University College of Law in 2001.
After graduating from law school, Higginbotham began her legal career as an assistant public defender in the Office of the Public Defender for the 2nd Judicial Circuit in Tallahassee. She served in that capacity until 2004, at which time she entered into private practice as an associate in the Law Offices of David Sacks.
Her memberships have included the board of ElderSource. She has also served as the executive secretary and membership chair of the American Business Women’s Association, Eight Flags Charter Chapter.
Higginbotham was born and raised in Callahan, Florida.
