Judge Jeff E. McKnight: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Jeff E. McKnight is a judge for the 30th District Court of Texas in Wichita County. He was elected to the bench in 2018, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Bob Brotherton.

Prior to his election, McKnight worked as a sole practitioner in his own private practice, where he handled family law and civil litigation matters since 2006. Before that, he served as an assistant district attorney in the Wichita County District Attorney's Office (2006) and the Collin County District Attorney's Office.

McKnight earned a bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management at Texas Tech University. Then, in 2003, he completed a J.D. at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law).

His volunteer service has included the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Wichita Falls Independent School District Foundation, and Wichita County Junior Livestock. He has also been a squadron adopter with the Sheppard Air Force Base 89th Flying Training Squadron.

Raised in East Texas, McKnight grew up on a small farm, where his mother worked as a teacher and his father worked as a truck driver.

He is registered as a Republican.
