The Hon. Jean M. Curran is an associate justice for the Haverhill District Court in Massachusetts. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Charlie Baker on February 22, 2017.
Curran earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a concentration in criminal justice from Suffolk University in 1985. She then completed a J.D. at New England Law in 1988.
After graduating from law school, Curran began her legal career in the Essex County District Attorney’s Office. She started as an assistant district attorney, rising through the ranks to become Senior Superior Court Assistant District Attorney in 1993.
Her memberships have included the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Partridgeberry Place Neighborhood Association (secretary). She also sat as a faculty member for the Advanced Evidence and Advocacy Skills Program presented by the Committee for Public Counsel Services, the Massachusetts District Attorneys Association, and Suffolk University.
Curran was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She has attended St. Agnes Church in Reading.
