Hon. Jay R. Adleman is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jan Brewer on May 20, 2013.
While on the Superior Court, Adleman has held assignments in the Family Court (2013), Criminal Court (2015), and Civil Court.
Prior to his appointment, Adleman presided for one year as a commissioner of the Superior Court (2011 to 2012).
Before joining the bench, he was an associate in the Phoenix law firm of Jones, Skelton & Hochuli, P.L.C. (2006 to 2011). Adleman also previously practiced at Teilborg, Sanders & Parks, P.C. (1999 to 2001).
His time in private practice was split between a five year stint as a deputy county attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (2001 to 2006).
Adleman received a B.A. from the University of Arizona in 1995. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 1998.
After graduating from law school, Adleman began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. John W. Thompson with the Arizona Court of Appeals (1998 to 1999).
His community involvement has included the Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club and the University of Arizona Alumni Association.
Adleman is registered as a Republican.
