The Hon. Janet M. Frangie is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Gray Davis on October 8, 2003, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Michael Morris.
Frangie earned a B.A. from Michigan State University in 1976. She then completed a J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1979.
Prior to her appointment to the bench, she worked at Narvid, Scott, Schwartz & Frangie from 1984 to 2003. Before that, she worked as an associate with Horne and Hoppe from 1979 to 1984. Over the course of her legal career, she has specialized in family law, real estate law, business law, and criminal law.
Frangie has been a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where she has served on its delegation to the Conference of Delegates of California Bar Associations.
She was named Judicial Officer of the Year by the Western San Bernardino County Bar Association in 2016.
Frangie was a resident of Monrovia, California at the time of her appointment.
