The Hon. James R. Dunn is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 1995 by former governor Pete Wilson. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Raymond Cardenas (Ret.).
Judge Dunn received his B.S. from Stanford University in 1959. He went on to graduate from Stanford Law School with his J.D. in 1962.
Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court in 1995, Dunn was a partner at the Los Angeles law firm of Bryan Cave, where he had practiced since 1984.
Before joining the firm, he had served as a federal public defender from 1976 to 1984.
