Judge Jacqueline M. Bluth - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Jacqueline M. Bluth is a judge for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Steve Sisolak on March 26, 2019.

Bluth earned a B.A. in criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Reno. She then completed a J.D. at the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

After graduating from law school, Bluth worked as a law clerk for the Law Office of Benson & Bingham as well as the Law Offices of Bradley, Drendel & Jeanney. Then, in 2007, she joined the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure there, Bluth held assignments in the Special Victims Unit, the Homicide Division, and the Child Death Review Team. She rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Chief Deputy District Attorney in the Homicide Division.

Her memberships have included the Advisory Committee on the Administration of Justice.

Bluth was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. When not presiding over legal matters, she enjoys coaching her children’s basketball and baseball teams. She has also volunteered as the gospel doctrine teacher at her church.
