Hon. Jacqueline L. Russell is a judge for the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected to the bench in 1997 and retained in 2007 and 2017. At the time of her election, she filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Joseph McCloskey (Ret.).
She received a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University in 1979. Russell then completed a J.D. at Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson Law in 1982.
Prior to joining the bench, she worked for fourteen years as an assistant district attorney with the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure there, Russell handled thousands of criminal cases as well as many custody, abuse, and child abuse cases. Her legal career has also included a stint as a private practice attorney with Russell & Russell in Tremont. She began her legal career as a staff attorney for the Hon. William Hutchinson, former justice of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Russell, a native of Tremont, is registered as a Republican. She is the daughter of Richard Russell, the former Schuylkill County District Attorney.
