The Hon. Jacqueline C. Cody is a judge for the Chester County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. Cody was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bob Casey, Sr. in 1992.
Over the course of her judicial career, Cody held assignments as President Judge of the Chester County Court of Common Pleas. She also initiated a mediation program for child custody disputes and implemented the Chester County Drug Court.
Cody earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Joseph’s College. She then completed a J.D. at Villanova University, Charles Widger School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Cody worked for the Chester County District Attorney’s Office (1981 to 1992). During her tenure there, she served as an assistant district attorney and a deputy district attorney, playing an instrumental role in establishing the Child Abuse Unit.
Her memberships have included the Judicial Ethics Committee of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges.
Cody was born and raised in West Chester, where she attended Villa Maria Academy.
She is registered as a Democrat.
