The Hon. Hector M. Guzman is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2006 by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David Workman (Ret.).
Judge Guzman received his B.A. from Middlebury College in 1984. He went on to earn his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 1988.
After graduating from law school, Guzman became a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office in 1989. While there, Guzman had been assigned to the D.A.'s Major Narcotics and Forfeiture Division, the Justice System Integrity Division, and the Major Crimes Division. Just prior to his appointment to the Superior Court, Guzman was serving as deputy-in-charge of the D.A.'s East Los Angeles office.
