The Hon. Gregory S. Gaul (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of Shasta County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in May 2009, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Steven Jahr.
Gaul earned an A.A. from Cerritos College and a B.S. from California State University, Long Beach. He then completed a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
He began his legal career in the Office of the District Attorney of Shasta County in 1987, rising through the ranks to become a senior deputy district attorney by the time of his appointment to the bench. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in the creation of a sex offender treatment program.
Gaul is registered as a Republican.
