Judge Gregory Olson - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Gregory Olson is a judge for the Riverside County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2018. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Richard A. Erwood (Ret.).

He is registered without party preference.

Judge Olson received his B.A. from Seattle University. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1989.

After law school, Olson began working for the Riverside County Public Defender's Office in 1990, where he served as a deputy public defender for fifteen years.

He was then selected in 2005 to serve as a court commissioner for the Riverside County Superior Court, a position he would hold until his appointment to the bench in 2018.

While on the bench, Judge Olson has presided over a family law calendar assignment at the Larson Justice Center.
