Judge Gregory M. Mallon: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Gregory M. Mallon (Ret.) served as a judge for the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. Mallon was elected to the bench in 2007. He retired in 2017 and currently serves as a senior judge.

Prior to his election, Mallon presided as a judge for the Delaware County Magisterial District Court, a position to which he was elected in 1982. Before that, he worked as an attorney in private practice.

Mallon earned a B.S. in physics from Widener University in 1970. He spent the next several years working as an orderly and psychiatric nurse technician at Crozer-Chester Medical Center before completing a J.D. at Widener University Delaware Law School in 1977.

His professional memberships have included the Delaware County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Delaware County District Justice Association (President), and the Pennsylvania Special Court Judges Association.

He has also been actively involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Kedron Youth Association, Ridley United Youth Soccer Club, and YMCA Indian Princesses. He also sat on the Board of Directors of Senior Community Services as well as Senior Victim Services.

Mallon was born and raised in Delaware County. He attended Ridley Township High School.
