View Judge AnalyticsThe Hon. Gregory Keosian is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former governor Gray Davis on May 22, 2002. He filled the vacancy created by the removal of Judge Patrick Couwenberg from the bench for perjury.
Judge Keosian received his B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1983. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Western Los Angeles School of Law in 1986.
After graduating from law school, Keosian joined the law firm of Scolinos, Slater, and Sweetman as an associate, where he practiced for one year. Then, in 1988, he would enter into private practice with his father, Armand Keosian, when they opened the Encino, California law firm of Keosian and Keosian. During his 14 years at the firm, his areas of practice focused on civil tort litigation and personal injury cases.
He also served as a small-claims and traffic court judge pro-tem as well as a settlement officer for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Judge Keosian, who is of Armenian descent, has served on several Armenian professional and community organizations. These included the Armenian Bar Association, the Armenian Rights Watch Group, the Armenian National Committee, as well as the Holy Martyrs Apostolic Church.
His other memberships have included the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley Bar Associations, and the Los Angeles chapter of the Consumer Attorneys Association.
