Biography

The Hon. Georgina T. Rizk (Ret.) served as a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. Rizk was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jon Mayeda. She retired on September 30, 2019.

Rizk earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then completed a J.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.

She began her legal career as a staff attorney for the Center for Law and Justice in 1975. Then, in 1983, Rizk left the public sector and entered into private practice as a sole practitioner.

After four years in private practice, Rizk became an administrative law judge for the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board in 1988. She served in that capacity until her appointment to the Superior Court in 2007.

Rizk has been married to Ronald C. Rizk, an artist and professor of fine arts in painting and drawing at the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Fine Arts.

She is registered decline-to-state.
