The Honorable Gary I. Micon

Biography

The Hon. Gary I. Micon is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2016. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Elia Weinbach.

He is a registered Democrat.

Judge Micon received his B.A. from California State University, Northridge and went on to earn his J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1985.

After graduating from law school, Micon joined the law firm of Ball, Hunt, Hart, Brown, and Baerwitz as an associate. In 1988 he left the firm to become a senior litigation associate for the law firm of Finkle, Hersh, and Stoll. Then in 1990, Judge Micon entered into private practice until he joined the law firm of Morris and Spencer as an associate in 1992. After a year with the firm, Micon joined the California Court of Appeals for the 2nd District as a senior judicial attorney. He served in that capacity for 21 years until being named a lead appellate attorney for the 2nd District in 2014. He remained with the Court of Appeals until his appointment to the Superior Court in 2016.

Judge Micon is a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoys writing.
