The Hon. Gary G. Gibson is a judge for the Superior Court of Shasta County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown on August 7, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Wilson Curle.
Gibson earned a B.A. from California State University, Sacramento. He then completed a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law.
He began his legal career as an associate at Halkides and Morgan in 1982. Two years later, he moved to the Law Offices of Simpson and Maire, where he practiced for the next seven years. Then, in 1991, Gibson became a partner at the Law Offices of Manuel and Gibson. He practiced there until 2006 when he was selected to serve as a court commissioner for the Superior Court of Shasta County. During his tenure as a court commissioner, he handled child support and family law matters.
He was named Family Law Judicial Officer of the Year by the California Lawyers Association in 2014.
Gibson has been a resident of Redding, California since 1982.
He is registered as a Democrat.
