Biography

The Hon. Fredericka M. Phillips is a judge of the Sixty-First District Court in Harris County, Texas. She took the judgeship in January 2017. Her current term ends in 2020, and she is running for re-election.
Phillips earned her B.S. in criminal justice from Lamar University in 1996. She later received her J.D. from the South Texas College of Law in 2000.
Judge Phillips began practicing as an attorney in 2000. She practiced law for over 16 years, representing clients in state and federal courts across the country. These courts included the Texas Supreme Court and the U.S. Fifth Circuit. She also represented companies in administrative hearings before city, state, and federal agencies. She worked for Costa Rose and then for her own firm.
Fredericka is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Southern District Courts of Texas and the U.S. Fifth Circuit.
She is a Democrat.
