Judge Frederick L. Pollack - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Frederick L. Pollack is a judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2018. He filled the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Mark I. Shames.

The 6th Judicial Circuit encompasses Pasco County and Pinellas County.

Prior to his appointment, Pollack was a partner at Hunter Law, P.A. He joined the firm as a senior associate in 2011 and was named a partner in 2016. His areas of practice there included marital and family law. Before that, Pollack was a sole practitioner in his own private practice (2000 to 2011) and an attorney at Mensh & McIntosh (1999 to 2000), supplementing his practice as a general magistrate and haring officer with the 6th Judicial Circuit Court (2007 to 2008) and Polk County Animal Services (2004 to 2007).

Pollack earned a B.A. in psychology from Alfred University in 1993. He went on to complete a J.D. at California Western School of Law in 1997.

After graduating from law school, Pollack began his legal career as a law clerk with the Office of the District Attorney in San Diego County, California, in 1997.

His professional memberships have included the Clearwater Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He was on the board of trustees of the Menorah Manor Foundation and served as a board member of the Selective Service System.
