The Hon. Frank J. Johnson (Ret.) was a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He retired from the bench on August 22, 2017. The Hon. Wendy W.Y. Chang filled the vacancy created by his retirement. Johnson was originally appointed to the Municipal Court by former Governor Pete Wilson in November of 1995. He filled the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Lloyd Wiatt (Dec.) to the Superior Court.

Johnson received his B.A. from the University of California. He went on to earn his J.D. from Southwestern School of Law.

Prior to his appointment to the Municipal Court, Johnson had been a deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office since 1984. Before joining the D.A.'s office, Johnson was in private practice from 1979 to 1984.
