Biography

The Hon. Fancy H. Jezek (Ret.) served as a judge for the 426th District Court in Bell County, Texas. Jezek was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Perry in 2007. She retired in 2020.

Prior to her appointment, Jezek worked as a partner at Holbrook, Jezek & Griffin, where she specialized in family law, criminal law, and school law. She has also served as an attorney for Bell County Water Control and Improvement (District No. 3) and the Temple Independent School District.

Jezek earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Then, in 1980, she completed a J.D. at Baylor Law School. She is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Her memberships have included the Texas Bar Association and the Bell County Bar Association. She has served as president of the Bell-Lampasas-Mills County Bar Association. She was also named Public Sector Lawyer of the Year (2009, 2013) by the Bell County Bar Association.

Jezek has resided in Temple, Texas. She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She has served as chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services.

She is registered as a Republican.
