Biography

The Hon. Eric S. Geffon is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed by former Governor Jerry Brown on December 12, 2014, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Thomas W. Cain.

Geffon earned a B.A. from California State University, Sacramento. He then completed a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1995.

He began his legal career as a deputy public defender in the Office of the Public Defender of Santa Clara County in 1996.

Then, in 2001, he left the public sector and started Geffon & Isger, where he practiced as a criminal defense attorney until his appointment to the bench in 2014.

Geffon is registered as a Democrat.
