The Hon. Elizabeth Ann Lippitt is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was originally appointed to the Los Angeles Municipal Court in 1997 by former Governor Pete Wilson. She was subsequently elevated to the Superior Court in 2000.
Judge Lippitt, who hails from Denver, Colorado, graduated with her B.A. from Colorado College in 1981. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Denver Law School in 1986. While she attended law school, Lippitt spent a semester abroad in Austria and also worked a brief stint at the Denver District Attorney's Office.
After graduating from law school in Denver, Lippitt's hopes of finding a permanent position at the Denver D.A.'s office were cut short due to budget layoffs. She made the move to Los Angeles where she joined the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office as a deputy district attorney. Lippitt served as a prosecutor for 10 years with the D.A.'s office before being appointed to the bench.
Judge Lippitt has taught mediation techniques for the National Judicial College, as well as served as a judge for the Teen Court Program. She has also been a member of the Cowboy Lawyers Association.
She was named the San Fernando Valley Bar Association Judge of the Year in 2018.
She enjoys taking care of her horse.
