The Hon. Elia V. Pirozzi is a judge for the Superior Court of San Bernardino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Thomas Glasser.
Pirozzi earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge. He has also completed an LL.M. from the University of San Diego in environmental, international, and comparative law. He completed his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law.
He began his legal career in 1990. He first worked as an associate in the Law Offices of Robert E. Weiss. Then, in 1991, he started his own private practice, specializing in real estate law. At this time, he also became the president and CEO of WestProp Real Estate Corporation, a company he co-founded with his wife. The company would eventually become an affiliate office of Coldwell Banker in 2005.
Pirozzi has been an active participant in the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce, the Fontana Chamber of Commerce, and the Mt. San Antonio Council. He also founded the Community Action Legal Institute.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the California Building Industry Association, the National Association of Home Builders, and Camp Fire Boys and Girls. He has also been on the Advisory Board of KVCR-TV Channel 24.
Pirozzi is registered as a Republican. He was a chairman of the San Bernardino County Republican Committee. He unsuccessfully ran for the United States Congress in 1998, 1999, and 2000.
