Biography

The Hon. Drew C. Takaichi is a judge for the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in December 2010, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Lucy H. Koh to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Takaichi earned a B.B.A. from California State University, Chico. He then received a J.D. from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1980.

He began his legal career as an associate in the Law Offices of Diana E. Levitz in 1980. Two years later, he joined Hamrick, Hoffman, Guillot & Takaichi as a partner. Then, in 1983, he moved to Brockman & Takaichi. He worked as a partner until 1994, when he started his own private practice as a sole practitioner.
