The Hon. Donna Roth is a judge of the Two Hundred Ninety-Fifth District Court in Harris County, Texas. She assumed office on January 1, 2019, and her current term ends in 2022.
Roth was the first in her family to obtain a high school diploma. After six years of working, she enrolled in St. Johns University and graduated in 1983. In 1984 she enrolled at St. Johns University Law School and received her diploma from the South Texas College of Law in 1987. Roth is the only member in her family with a postgraduate degree.
She began practicing law in 1987, becoming a partner at Thurlow, Roth and Garriga P.C. in 1993. In 1994, Roth started her own firm, Roth & Associates, in Harris County, which frequently practiced civil trial litigation. She has settled thousands of cases in mediation and through negotiation. Roth is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Among other things, Roth is a moot trial judge, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, on the board of directors for the Houston Trial Lawyers Foundation, and a volunteer at JFK Elementary.
In the early 1900s, Roth's grandparents arrived in New York City from Ireland and Italy. She has a daughter.
Roth is a Democrat.
