Biography

The Hon. Donna L. Stashyn is a judge for the Solano County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007.

Judge Stashyn received her B.A. from Boston College. She went on to earn her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law.

Stashyn first worked as a deputy district attorney with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office from 1991 to 1993.

She then briefly left the public sector to practice as an associate at Haims, Johnson, MacGowan, and McInerney.

Stashyn re-entered the public arena to join the Solano County District Attorney's Office in 1994. She worked as a deputy district attorney in Solano County until 2005. It was at that time that Stashyn was selected by the Solano County Superior Court judges to serve as a court commissioner. She would hold that position until her appointment to the bench two years later.

While on the Superior Court, Judge Stashyn has been assigned to the Traffic Division/Adult Truancy Court as well as the Juvenile Division. In January 2018, Judge Stashyn was elected to serve as an Assistant Presiding Judge of the Court.
