Biography

The Hon. Donna L. McIntosh is a judge for the 18th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2001.


The 18th Judicial Circuit includes Brevard and Seminole Counties. McIntosh has held assignments in the Civil-Family and Criminal Divisions in Seminole County.


McIntosh attended Stetson University, where she received a B.B.A. in accounting in 1977. She then spent time as a volunteer with the United States Peace Corps, where she served in Guatemala (1978 to 1980), before completing a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1983.


After graduating from law school, McIntosh began her legal career as a partner at Stenstrom, McIntosh, Julian, Colbert, Whigham & Simmons. She worked there until her appointment to the bench.


She has served on the Florida Supreme Court Criminal Steering Committee, the Florida Conference of Circuit Civil Judges (justice chair), the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee, and the Florida Criminal Punishment Code Task Force. Her other memberships included the Seminole County Bar Association (president), the Volie A. Williams Inn of Court, the Central Florida Legal Services (board of directors), the Barry Law School Advisory Board (chair), and the Seminole State College Foundation.


McIntosh was named Judge of the Year by the Seminole County Bar Association (2007 & 2016) and received the Education for Justice Award from the Florida Bar (2007) and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Seminole State College (2006).
