Biography

The Hon. Donald J. Proietti is a judge for the Superior Court of Merced County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009.

Proietti earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona. He then completed a J.D. from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 1979.

Prior to his appointment to the bench, he was a partner at Allen, Proietti & Fagalde, where he practiced for almost thirty years.

When not presiding over cases, Proietti enjoys long-distance bicycling, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is registered as a Democrat.
