The Hon. Donald I. Segerstrom, Jr. is a judge for the Superior Court of Tuolumne County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2011, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Douglas Boyack.
Segerstrom earned a B.A. from Prescott College. He then completed a J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law.
He began his legal career as a research attorney in 1981. Four years later, he accepted a position as a deputy district attorney with the Office of the District Attorney of Stanislaus County.
He served in that capacity for three years, eventually leaving to start his own civil and criminal defense practice as a sole practitioner.
Then, in 2001, he became the district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Tuolumne County, a position he held until his appointment to the bench.
Segerstrom is registered as a Democrat.
His family has lived in Tuolumne County since 1900. His mother was a journalist, and his father became the publisher of The Union Democrat newspaper in 1938.
