The Hon. Donald Cole Byrd is a judge for the Glenn County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Pete Wilson in 1998.
He received his B.A. from St. Mary's College of California. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Byrd spent his entire legal career in private practice.
During his tenure on the bench, Judge Byrd served two separate tenures as a special master for the California Commission on Judicial Performance. The position, which is appointed by the California Supreme Court, involves disciplinary hearings in cases against other judges. Judge Byrd also served as the Presiding Judge of the Court.
