The Hon. Domenick N. Calabrese is a judge for the Region 22 Probate Court (District 22) in New Haven County, Connecticut. He was elected to the bench in 2002.
Region 22 encompasses Oakville, Watertown, Woodbury, Bethlehem, Southbury, Oxford, Washington, and Roxbury. Over the course of his judicial career, Calabrese founded the Waterbury Regional Children’s Court.
Calabrese earned a bachelor’s degree in allied health from the University of Connecticut (1983) and an M.B.A. from the University of New Haven (1991). He then completed a J.D. at the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1995. As a law student, Calabrese completed an internship at the Hartford Probate Court under the Hon. Robert K. Killian, Jr.
He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Florida, and New York.
After graduating from law school, Calabrese opened his own private practice. He specializes in estate planning; wills and trusts; planning for incapacity; probate; counsel to businesses; business entity formation, administration, and dissolution; asset protection; contracts; agreements; software licensing agreements; and commercial transactions. He has also served as vice president and general counsel for Gemini Healthcare (2005 to 2015).
His memberships have included the National College of Probate Judges, the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Waterbury Bar Association. He has also served on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Probate Assembly and the Board of Directors of Holy Cross High School.
