The Hon. Diego H. Edber is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2018 by former Governor Jerry Brown. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Patrick A. Cathcart (Ret.).
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Edber received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Edber began his legal career as an associate at Deloitte and Touche LLP in 1998, and for Ball and Yorke in 1999, before becoming a sole practitioner in 2000.
His time in the private sector was brief. Edber joined the California Department of Justice's Office of the Attorney General in 2001, where he worked as a deputy attorney general. He held that position until 2007 when he then became a deputy city attorney for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.
Then, in 2017, Edber was made a court commissioner for the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He remained in that capacity until his appointment to the bench a year later.
