Biography

The Hon. Diane M. Price (Ret.) was a judge for the Napa County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. W. Scott Snowden (Ret.). She retired from the bench in 2019.

She was registered as a Democrat.

Price graduated with her B.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Prior to her appointment to the bench, Price served as a town attorney for Yountville, and a city attorney for St. Helena and Napa, while also partnering at the law firm Coombs and Dunlap LLP for twenty-six years. During her time in private practice, Price specialized in civil litigation and municipal law. Her civil litigation practice emphasized personal injury, real estate, business, land use, and contract issues.

During her tenure as a Superior Court judge, Price served as a Supervising Judge of the Family Law, Juvenile, Appellate, Civil, and Criminal Divisions. She was also elected to serve as the Presiding Judge of the Court from 2011 to 2013. Price served five years as a Napa County Grand Jury judicial liaison.

She served as the past-president of the Napa Emergency Women's Services. Her other memberships included the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorney's of California, the Napa County Legal Assistance, and the Napa Valley Private Industry Council.

In her free time, Price enjoys traveling, bicycling, and playing tennis.
